NEEOPA was established in 1985 to help organisations implement quality equal employment opportunity programs.
Membership is open to all sectors of the community. Members join NEEOPA to share experiences and ideas, network, gain support and achieve a deeper insight into the principles of EEO, Affirmative Action, Workforce Diversity and Work-Life Balance.
Below is an extract from the NEEOPA Charter.
The association was formed in the mid eighties to provide a forum to assist members to develop, implement and progress quality EEO policies and programs. Its aims are to:
promote professional development of members and practitioners.
Membership to NEEOPA is open to all sectors of the community, private organisations (large or small), government bodies, academics, students, consultants etc. Membership fees are structured to reflect; the size of the organisation you belong to, or whether you are a sole practitioner, student or unemployed.
Lunch meetings are held on a regular basis throughout the year and they provide members with an opportunity to experience a wide variety of speakers covering topical issues. Members are encouraged to provide feedback on topics that have been canvassed and suggestions for future speakers are encouraged. The meetings also provide members with an opportunity to network, exchange information, develop business and social contacts and provide peer support and practical advice. Members are informed at the beginning of the year the timetable of meetings for the year and where confirmed, the guest speakers. Reminders are sent out before each meeting confirming date, time and speaker. Attendance at meetings is free. The cost of guest speakers and catering is covered in the membership fee.
